Abstract: This study proposes an innovative plugin hybrid fuel cell-battery powertrain system integrated with Phase Change Material (PCM)-based waste heat recovery to address cold-weather challenges in Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM). A V-type loading cycle was used to simulate wheel loader operations, and GT-Suite software was employed for system modeling and optimization. The results demonstrate improved energy efficiency, reduced reliance on Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) heaters, and enhanced cold-start performance. This research contributes to sustainable and energy-efficient solutions for NRMM applications.
